Usage of 'advice' and 'advise'
'Advice' is noun which means to give opinion to
someone or somebody in order to help the latter to take a course of action. 'Advise'
is a verb which means to give advice. ‘s’
is used in verb form while ‘c’ is used in noun form.
'Advice' and 'advise' is one of the most
mistaken pair of words used in English language.
The distinction between the two is
predominant in British English. The same difference applies to ‘practice’ (
noun ) and ‘practise’ ( verb) and ‘licence’ ( noun) and ‘license’ (verb).
In American English, this distinction is
not common and “‘s’ word” ( advise, practise, license etc) is generally used as
both verb and noun.
