Difference between celebrity and celebrant

A celebrity is a  person well known among general public. The celebrity status is often accompanied by wealth and generally results from successful career in his/her field for example,  sports, acting, politics etc. In

some other cases persons get  celebrity status through  media attention for their wealth or lifestyle or even their notoriety and misdeeds. Some others achieve temporary celebrity status resulting from  short term  media attention. Celebrity status can be at international or national or  regional level.
Example: Sachin Tendulkar is a cricket celebrity.

A celebrant is a priest or official who officiates religious or civil ceremonies or rites. For example,  a priest of a church or a pujari in a Hindu temple.
According to a group of scholars, a participant in a celebration may also be called as celebrant.
