As we all know India is the second largest country in the world with the highest population. The population is increasing day-by-day. As per studies 33crore people lived in India during independence. Now it has crossed 115 crores. This has given rise to many problems. There is scarcity of food. Hence there is starvation and deaths. There is a dearth of jobs among Indians, hence people are migrating to other countries. People staying in villages have come to cities in search of jobs and a better living. This leads to an increase in the population of the cities. Now there are more people in cities than in villages. Very few people work in the fields and farms. Everywhere it is crowded. People have less space to live, hence common properties like forests, water etc. will be exploited to make space for living. This will result in deforestation and desertification. This leads to over utilization of our natural resources. There is be scarcity of proper treatment and medicine. There is lack of jobs. All efforts by the government to control population growth have proven futile. India is a developing country. Population is another cause for poverty. It is high time we all think about it, and take the necessary steps as it lies in our hands.
