"Well, it is not my fault you are such a troublemaker!" Shouted Alia at her twin brother.

They were having a heated argument in the bedroom. It was Idris again being a prankster in the class. She hated being a twin to someone irresponsible and never took high school seriously. On the other hand, Alia was always the class-topper. It wasn't the first time they were fighting about this. It was a TV show their parents had to watch every day before school. They were starting to learn it by heart and was already a part of their routine.
"I told you, Alia, for the hundredth time, it is none of your business!"
"It is! You are-"
"embarrassing me in front of my friends" recited Idris in Alia's high-pitched voice, rolling his eyes. "and what are your friends? Nerds. Aren't they?" There was an awkward silence but it didn't last long, thanks to their mother's shouts from downstairs,
"CAN'T THIS TOM AND JERRY SHOW WAIT UNTIL YOU BOTH COME BACK FROM SCHOOL? THE BUS IS LEAVING!"
"Coming, Mom!" Replied Idris
"I wanted to tell you something since we both were born," said Alia, "You are the WORST BROTHER EVER!" and she stormed out of the room and slammed the door, leaving Idris shaken up.

"Alright, class. Time's up"
They were having their essay test in the class later that day. They had to write about someone they appreciate. Alia, being the class monitor, had to collect all the essays from her fellow students. She didn't talk to her brother that day and tried not to catch his eye. When she had reached her brother's desk, she took his essay without uttering a word to him. But then curiosity got the best of her, she wanted to get a glimpse of her brother's essay. She pretended to be organizing the papers in order when she saw what made her feel like a jerk.

'My other half' was the topic and at the end of the essay was written, 'although we fight a lot, she is the best sister ever.' Alia felt ashamed of herself. She regretted everything she said to him that morning. He could have written about anyone he appreciates.....anyone...but still, he chose to write about his sister after all the hurtful things she said to him. If only she could make amends........

But then her teacher shouted, "WHO HAD WRITTEN ON THE BOARD WITH AN UNERASABLE MARKER?"
no one replied.
"Idris, is it one of your jokes again?"
"I-" he murmured
"I was the one who did it" to the class's shock, it was Alia who spoke.
"Alia? Looks like you wanted to follow in your brother's footsteps. Detention. NOW!"
Idris caught her eye and she winked.
He smiled,
His hazel eyes twinkling.
