“Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world”– Nelson Mandela.

Education is a necessity for a child while growing up as it helps in developing our opinions and perspectives on life. With the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic, online education has found its popularity in the education system of the world as schools have been shut down and online education is the only possible safe way for children to educate themselves.

If you ask, what is online education? Well, it is one of the technological advancement made by humankind in the digital world, where you no longer have to be physically present in a class to learn. The environment of online education is very different from the traditional classroom setup. As we all have been quarantined due to the pandemic, we have been taking online education classes. Now here is the question, is online education better than traditional classroom education?

Online education helps students to be self-motivated and self-disciplined as we can learn at our own pace. Moreover, we are seated in our homes, which is in our comfort zone. All study materials are digitally uploaded which means we can access it whenever we want. Online education does benefit for a student to grow intellectually, However, the scope for socialising will be less. Besides, students only have virtual accessibility with the teacher, which restricts the interaction between the two.

On the other hand, traditional classroom education helps a student to grow intellectually as well as socially. We meet up with new people who have varied thinking which helps in developing our scientific temperament and interpersonal social skills. Students will build strong relationships among their schoolmates, which will help them discover their inner potentials as well as help them to become stronger mentally.

The bonding between a teacher and a student will be thick and students have easy accessibility to the teachers. Traditional classroom education might be stressful compared to online education because of its rigid timetables etc. but it does inculcate memory and management abilities in a student. Traditional education also creates memories for students to cherish lifelong.

Each student has his or her unique way of studying and for me; I would choose traditional education over online education because unlike traditional education, online education limits interaction, which makes student socially deprived. As we are living in a fast-paced world with people with different characteristics, we not only need intellectual proficiency we also need social skills to adapt.
