Introduction:
The person i admire the most is Dr. APJ. Abdul Kalaam.  He was born on 15th October 1931, in a poor muslim family at Rameshwaram. He had three brothers and one sister. At  very young age, out of his own will, he worked as a paper boy, to support  the financial needs of his family. He completed his schooling and graduation at Trichy.  He passed out as an aeronautical engineer from MIT. Even though he couldn’t pursue his dream career of becoming pilot, he went on to design aircrafts. He then joined ISRO and played a vital role in sending many satellites to space. Considering his service he is called the missile man of India. He was elected as 11th president of India. He lived by his words and hence became a great mentor for all the youth.

The man of virtues:
He spent his whole life for the uplifement of the nation. His life is an open book for us to learn a lot of good things. Dr. Abdul Kalaam once said that he loved being a teacher rather than being a scientist or the president. He did his best in every field he pursued. His dedication towards work and his  strong will power are the two things that has made him great. He strongly believed that youth are the greatest strength of India. He said every child should dream for the betterment and never should give up at any cost..
Once when Abdul kalaam was asked which of his inventions has made him proud.  The answer that he gave is by far the best one ever.  The cost effective and weightless plastic,  used in making prosthetic limbs for the handicapped kids, was invented by him, which he feels is the best among all his inventions.

Conclusion:
Such simple and noble were his thoughts, that he believed youth alone, with their strong determination can remove corruption fully.  He loved interacting with students. He passed away while giving lecture to students. He was truly a man of virtues,  still inspiring many more lives.

Generation gap in simple words is the difference of opinion between two generations on different issues. A particular age group of people think in similar pattern. This pattern differs with the age groups. It may be regarding anything like values, music, life style, politics, culture, etc., this gap has always existed between all generations.

When we are kids we always listen to what our parents tell us. We believe in everything they say. We blindly follow them. We never give much of a thought whether it is true or false, good or bad.  Then gradually as we grow we try to think individually. When we do things in our own way we tend to ask questions like why? What for? Why not the other way? etc., so we try to see & do things in different ways. We try to know the logical reason behind things. We accept new things and learn more about them quiet easily, while our parents would always want to follow the older way. This difference of thinking leads to generation gap.

My father says that he never sat in front of his father. He feels that is the way father and son relation should be, but I want my father to be like a friend to me, to whom I can share everything. My father doesn’t like the present day’s trendy music. And I can’t enjoy the olden day slow music. Elders always have a saying attached to their comment, “In our good old days, this never happened”. The dressing and hair style is the main topic in which the arguments begin. Even though fashion is something that repeats itself, elders never like the ones that the younger ones love. This generation gap is not confined to a particular gender or community. Be it male or female, rich or poor opinion clashes are always there.  We often see that father and son supporting two different parties Political parties. Sometimes this sort of debate is good for the development of the country. But same can’t be said for a family.

The older generation people always feel that their childhood days are the golden days. The younger generation avoid doing things just because it is told by the older people. This goes on and on like a cycle. As yesterday’s kids are tomorrow’s senior citizens. Accepting the positive changes is a must. Each generation should respect each other’s likes and dislikes, there by filling the so called generation gap.

Everybody in this world have a hobby which they enjoy doing during their leisure time. There are lots of hobbies like collecting stamps, reading books, observing the sky, listening to songs, engaging in aesthetic activities,etc….. Out of those, I enjoy and spend my leisure and night time by observing the night sky. I have a brother and he also joins me when I observe the night sky.

I like to find things about the night sky and the asteroid belt. I do not have a telescope so I spend most of my time in the internet to find information about the planets and the other celestial bodies in the sky. Some times, I get scolded by my mum and dad because I spend most of my time in the laptop searching and gathering information about my hobby, but when they come and see what I am doing, they appreciate and encourage me to go on my path.
When i showed  interest in this field , my parents supported me a lot  and  promised me that they would buy me a telescope on my birthday !!! I was very happy when I heard that I was going to  get a telescope on my birthday. I always know  that my parents are providing me with all these facilities and the telescope without having loads of money with them. So I thought that I should really be happy with what my parents provide to me with in their limitations.

In the mean while, I came to know from my parents that the longest lunar eclipse was going to be on this upcoming Saturday, 27th of July from 10:00 pm to 4:00 am. When I came to know about this, I browsed the internet from top to bottom and I came to know about it very well. On the Saturday, 27th of June, I went to my garden and sat down in a bench in my garden with my brother and my parents.

We waited for a while and while we waited the mosquitoes came and bit us. Every now and then I heard slapping and hitting that came from my parents trying to slap the mosquitoes but no one of them succeeded because it was such a dark night. After some hours ticked by, the environment changed and we thought of looking at the moon. Wow !!! After all the moon was slowly turning to red colour and we noticed the slight changes it underwent in that time. It was so interesting to me and to my parents.
I watched the moon continuously without even blinking my eyes and after sometime I heard snoring sounds behind me. When I turned behind I saw my parents and my brother sleeping on the ground, fast asleep !!!! I laughed loudly and all of them woke up suddenly. I felt funny as well as afraid at the same time. By the way the lunar eclipse has ended by that time and my parents wanted to sleep, so we packed our things and we went to our house. It was such a happy day for our family.

After all these, I thought that I should maintain a notebook to write all the things that I learnt everyday about astronomy. So my parents bought me a very beautiful and small notebook so that I could put it to my pocket and take it  with me to the places I visited. My parents told me that the information written in this notebook would be really useful for me and my brother in the future.

My friends told me that there was an astronomical club held in our school every Monday. I was very happy when I heard about this and I registered for this club. They provide us telescopes free of charge and many other interesting things. This club entered me into a course named the ”young aviators’ project.” This course interested me much more in my hobby.
I want to consult people with talent and knowledge in this subject so that I can gain more knowledge about this subject. Once, my father told me that a person has to sit, speak and be friendly with people who are talented than oneself. Now I spend most of my weekends and holidays searching for planets and my main aim is to find a planet that is just like the mother EARTH with full of oxygen, water and food. My parents offers great support for me to achieve my dream and my aim. I thank them and pray for them every time I think of them. I love them greatly because I know that they would definitely help me to reach my aim in every ways that they can provide me with.

My favourite teacher is Mrs.  Leena George, our mathematics teacher. Mrs. George is a highly experienced maths teacher , she has been teaching mathematics in our school for the last twenty five years.  Mrs. Geoge is the Vice principal of our school. Besides being an outstanding maths teacher , she is an excellent administrator. Our maths teacher is very strict when it comes to discipline and studies, on the other hand she is extremely friendly with the parents. Mrs. George is very popular for her co-operative nature , no student returns empty handed from her when they need help.

Our mathematics teacher is absolutely thorough with her subject. She makes mathematics simple for all of us, no matter how difficult the problems are. Mrs. George makes sure that all the students get equal attention. She takes special care of the weak ones. If any student requires help regarding her subject , she provides them with extra class after school. When it comes to homework or classwork, she is very strict. Anybody attending her class with homework undone is bound to be punished. Punishment means staying back after school and completing the unfinished homework. Therefore none of us dare to be inattentive in her class, or attend her class with unfinished task. We simply cannot deny the fact that it is because of Mrs. George that we all come out with flying colours at the end of the year.

Mrs. George , being the Vice principal of the school, looks after the administration very efficiently. Discipline is her first priority. In chapel, she teaches us how to lead a disciplined life, how to be successful in life, how to overcome hurdles or obstacles and reach our goals in life. She is an outstanding organiser. Our teacher organises  all  the events  like sports, concerts, fests, fair etc. very capably. She encourages all the students to participate in all the events. Besides being a good teacher and a good administrator , she is an excellent pianist and a wonderful singer. Mrs. George always stresses on students’ involvement in co-curricullar  activities.

Mrs. George is tall and healthy, and her complexion is wheatish. She is always seen dressed up in simple attire. Her dignified appearance and strong personality makes her look very stern outwardly. Mrs. George is extremely dedicated towards her profession.  Her compassion for the students is noteworthy, in school she is almost like a mother to all the students. Mrs. George is my idol, my inspiration. She is a perfect example of simple living and high thinking. We all love her and respect her from the very bottom of our heart. One just cannot expect a better teacher than Mrs. George.

I turned eight on 20th of May 2018 .  This year’s birthday party was the best birthday party I have celebrated till date.  I woke up in the morning with the Happy Birthday music , loud wishes ,warm hugs and kisses from my parents. I turned around and found gifts wrapped with colourful papers heaped on my study table. Gifts included a gigantic pink teddy bear, lots of story books, painting books, two dresses, and needless to say lots of chocolates ,cookies and wafers. My happiness and excitement knew no limits.

After freshening up I wore one of the new dresses,it was a light yellow frock with navy blue polka dots and a big bow . My parents took me to the nearby Kali temple for seeking the blessings of the goddess. After returning home my mother served me with my favourite breakfast ,  aloo puri,  chana masala , kheer and gulab jamun. Everything was cooked by my mom, delicious indeed . My friends and relatives wished me over phone and said that they were all coming home in the evening for the party. I was more than happy, knowing that there’s going to be a “SURPRISE BIRTHDAY PARTY”. My mom cooked pulao and chicken korma , and for dessert she made kesar kulfi.  Lunch was yummy!

My mom dressed me up beautifully in the evening. My party dress was a beautiful white gown with red roses stiched all over. I entered  the hall with a heart full of excitement. The hall was looking stunning , with colourful streamers, twinkling lights, balloons and fresh flowers. The dark chocolate cake decorated with cherries, roses ,chocolate chips, wafers and a beautiful lotus candle looked simply awesome. All the guests started streaming in from 6 o clock. All my friends and cousins were waiting for me to cut the cake. So without any delay , I  began the cake cutting ceremony. After cutting the cake , it was time for me to burst the huge balloon which had toffees inside it. The hall was buzzing with the conventional yet the most loved happy birthday song. Guests were served with soft drink, chicken cheese balls, paneer  balls, French fries and of course ; slices of the cake. I distributed the return gifts to all my friends and cousins.

We played lots of games like, dumb charades, musical chair, passing the parcel etc. There was a dance party , in which all the elders also participated. Thereafter everyone joined for dinner.  The menu for dinner was paratha, paneer butter masala ,mutton Biryani, Chicken chanp, fish orly,  hot malpua with ice cream . Soon the party came to an end, all my friends and relatives started departing. I opened  the gifts at night, they were lovely, I liked all of them. I thanked mom and dad for the party and after saying my prayers and thanking god for the wonderful day I went off to sleep.
