Hello friends!! I am going to write about our favourite day….yes, Children’s day. Children’s Day is celebrated in India every year with great enthusiasm on 14th of November. It is celebrated by teachers and students in the schools with lots of events and activities. School buildings gets decorated with colorful balloons and other decorative materials. It is the birth anniversary of Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru who was the first Indian Prime Minister of independent India. He was very fond of the children and had great affection to them. He liked very much to be among children as well as talk and play with them. Children  used to call him as Chacha Nehru to show their love and respect. On that day, children participate in activities like singing songs in Hindi and English, poem recitation, speech, dance, etc to remember Chacha Nehru’s great works for the country.

Last year on Children’s day I had school  and so  I was really excited .Why, you know? Mainly I can play a lot with my friends, I can wear colour dress etc. So I dressed in a sparkling pink dress and went to school. That day at the school there was a special assembly on Children’s day and we  had a group dance with my friends. I enjoyed it a lot and our sir gave us chocolates. After that our beloved teachers performed many programs like dance, skit and song to make us happy. We all were really excited to see our teachers performing on stage. What we used to do in the assembly every day, that all were done by our teachers for us on that special day.   Then we had our class party which we used to get only once in a year. We all had a feast of KFC and pizza. We all sat together and enjoyed the delicious food. We all shared each other and had a great time chatting and taking food. After that we played our favourite game King step and hide and seek during break time. After the break it was games period! So we again got chance to play a lot. And then it was time to go back home. I was very sad to go home but I thought I can see my school the next day also. So I went home happily. I can never forget that day. I just love that day very much. And I am eagerly waiting for this year’s children’s day.

Celebrations like children's day is very important because it creates awareness among people about the importance of children in the country. It also makes people aware that children are the real future of the country. So everyone should understand their responsibility towards their children and realize the importance of children’s day celebration.
