When you hear the name Rani Lakshmi Bai ,you feel very proud  because she was one of the most inspiring female freedom fighters of India. She fought against British with patriotism and bravery but unfortunately she couldn't defeat the British. But we are proud proud of her and consider her as one of the bravest daughters of India.


Rani Lakshmi Bai was born on 19 November 1828. Her parents Moropant Tambe and Bhagirathi Sapre named her Manikarnika and nickname Manu. She was born in Kashi  which is now renamed as Varanasi. From her young age, Manikarnika started learning sword fighting, archery and horse riding. When she was four years her mother Bhagirathi Sapre passed away.


She stayed with her father after that whenever she went to the market she saw the torture the British were doing to the Indian people which made herself with full anger. But as she was small so she couldn’t do anything .As time passed, she was grown into a young girl now she decided she will send the British to their country from our India. And now if Rani Lakshmi Bai saw any torture to the Indians she always use to fight with the British. The time passed and Rani Lakshmi Bai was married with Maharaja Gangadhar Rao Newalkar, the king of Jhansi and now Rani Lakshmi Bai was the Queen of Jhansi. Gangadhar Rao was just a puppet in the hands of the British and Rani Lakshmi did not like his husband to be a puppet in the hands of British she did everything whatever she could do to stop the Britshers to torture Indians.


The new governor general Lord Dalhousie introduced a new policy named doctrine of lapse. In this policy, if the king dies without a natural heir his territory will automatically will go the British. After some more month they were blessed with a son but this happiness didn’t last as their son died. Gangadhar Rao then decided to adopt a son but the Britishers told adopted son cannot rule because it should be the kings natural heir And after that Gangadhar Rao took his last breathe and Britishers were annexing Jhansi but Rani Lakshmi fought a war but she died in the war and this is how Jhansi was annexed. Even though she couldn’t fulfil her dream she got the title in Hindi khoob ladi mardani wo.
