BTS- Life of the A.R.M.Y

BTS. Cheers, chants and shouts of “You’re the best band ever” will be permanently imprinted on your mind if you utter the name nowadays. Of course there is no one who doesn’t know about the famous South Korean boy band. There is simply a lot about them and I don’t even know where to start.

So first of all, basic facts. Everybody knows this but still, there are 7 members in this awesome band namely RM, the leader- Jin, the oldest- Suga, the greatest rapper (at least according to me) - J-hope, the amazing dancer and the ‘hopeful’ one who gives positive energy to the band-Jimin, who is quite good at everything- V, who is one of the most popular and last but not the least the Golden Maknae, Jungkook. According to me, each of the members have different talents which, when put together, makes up a whole new type of music. Their amazing ability to alter their voices as per the mood of the song is one of the things which makes them unique. And also their songs makes anyone feel happy and free, moving to the cool vibes.

Now, for those who are in this world of K-pop I will give a brief description of al the members.

RM –Kim Namjoon

As I told earlier, he is the leader of BTS. You might be wondering about his role in the band. He is a great rapper who gives power and energy to songs. He is also the most fluent English speaker in the band and writes the lyrics for most of the BTS songs. Also, although he is young, he is the first member to join BTS and also has a sense of responsibility and leadership over the other members.

JIN- Kim Seok Jin

He is the oldest member of BTS. A.R.M.Y’s (BTS fans) think that he is the ‘eoma’ (meaning mother in Korean) of the band as he takes care of the younger members. Jin is also the friendliest and most approachable of the band as he quickly ‘breaks the ice’ and befriends anyone that he meets. Also Jin makes the funniest jokes and is also known as the Joker of BTS.

SUGA

He is the lead rapper of BTS and he truly deserves the title because, believe it or not, he can rap 9.83 to 177 syllables per second! With no doubt we A.R.M.Ys can declare that he is one of the fastest rappers in South Korea. Suga is also described as the kindest in the band. On his 28^th birthday, he donated $88,000 to the Children’s Cancer Society. He also defends the band from criticism from other artists and replies wisely to their rude comments.

J-HOPE –Jung Hoseok

J-hope is the ‘sunshine’ of the group. He is the lead dancer and is the third and final rapper of the group. Whenever BTS introduce themselves his lines “I’m your hope, you’re my hope, and I’m J-hope.” rings loudly throughout the stadium. He is also the strict dance mentor of the band and helps them with their dance practices.

JIMIN-Park Jimin

Jimin is the one who has the pitch perfect voice. You tell him to sing anything, he can go as high as you desire and will give a wonderful song in the end. He is also the one who can perform the dance moves smoothly and flawlessly. Jimin is the one who comforts any crying members during their concerts. He is the one who attracts millions of fans due to his many talents.

V- Kim Taehyung

Hearing his rich, deep voice gives the final touch to a BTS music experience. V is one of the best actors in the group and is also the funniest. He is also very creative and helps a lot when the group runs out of ideas for new song and concerts. While speaking to Weverse magazine, he said, "I want to be ARMY’s partner, their best friend, the friend who’s always by their side when we’re not on stage. I want to talk with a close friend—that’s exactly how I feel. It’s been a long time since I could see my friend, ARMY. Usually when friends can’t see each other they keep in touch all the time. They’re just, well, friends I would hate to lose. Friends who seriously give me strength whenever they’re around. Sometimes you find friends like that in life. It’s like that with the other members, and I have other friends who I can share my feelings with. And I have ARMY. So I can’t help but do whatever I can do to make those people smile and make them feel happy." In response an A.R.M.Y replied “Taehyung always makes sure that all of us have to feel loved, thank you Taehyung!”

JK- Jeon Jungkook

Jungkook is known as the Golden Maknae because he is the youngest of the group and is a multi-skilled person. Although he is the main vocals, JK is also good in rapping and dancing. He likes sports and BTS has won many 400m relay races due to his incredible speed. He is also known for entertaining his ‘hyungs’ (elder brothers) with his amusing antics. On his 24^th birthday (internationally, he is 25 according to Korean culture) Indian A.R.M.Y rented billboards and covered bus stands in Mumbai with posters and pictures of the singer. This shows A.R.M.Y’s devotion to their idols.

Well, yeah that was the last member in BTS. Talking about their songs, as I told earlier, they convey different moods through their songs. If you want groovy vibes, Dynamite, Permission to Dance or Butter would be just perfect. Those songs always make me jump up and move along to the beat. If you are feeling a bit calmer, Life Goes On or Go Go will be awesome. Other great ones are Fire, Mic Drop, Idol, DNA and My Universe which is a collaboration with Coldplay. There are simply too many songs and all of them are too good.

Anyway, you may be wondering about A.R.M.Y. Well in simple words, A.R.M.Y is the life of BTS and BTS is the life of A.R.M.Y. The special bond between the band and their fans is one which cannot be found with any other group. If you ask an A.R.M.Y to describe BTS he/she would tell you “There is something so special and unique about them that makes them different from other groups. They hold their fans in such high account”  Well many of you reading this might be an A.R.M.Y so here’s something to you from BTS, your greatest idols - “Let’s never lose hope”.
